Fred Schneider, DVM


Dr. Frederick Schneider is the owner of Blackhorse Animal Hospital. A Houston native, he attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science in 1989, a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science in 1990 and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1993.

After graduating, Dr. Schneider practiced veterinary medicine at hospitals in Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and the Spring/Cypress area before establishing Blackhorse Animal Hospital in 2007.

Dr. Schneider’s professional interests include general practice, wellness medicine, soft tissue surgery and orthopedics. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

In his spare time, Dr. Schneider enjoys golf, computers and most sports. He and his wife Sherri enjoy a blended family which includes her sons, Brandon (passed away 2010), Austin and Aaron, and his daughters, Steffanie, Kaitlyn and Brooke. They are members of a local Church and enjoy serving our community whenever possible. The family has four furry members—Lola, Belle, Pearl and Ruby the pampered Shelties.

Kristen Endsley, DVM


Dr. Kristen Endsley grew up in Austin, Texas. She then moved to College Station to attend school where she graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2009 and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2013.

Dr. Endsley’s professional interests include preventative medicine, dermatology, feline medicine, and soft tissue surgery. She is a member of both the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Endsley and her husband Daren enjoy being active and traveling in their spare time. They share their home with three furry children- Piper and Peach, both long-haired miniature dachshunds, and their pesky little brother Brodie, a lab mix.

Samantha Monier, DVM


Dr. Samantha Monier (Mon`et)is from a small town in North Texas called Peaster. She grew up on a farm spending most of her time with her horses and dogs. She moved to College Station to attend Texas A&M to complete her pre-requisite courses for veterinary school and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017.

Dr. Monier enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but takes a special interest in nutrition, preventative medicine, ophthalmology and surgery. She is also a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

Dr. Monier loves traveling with her husband, spending time in Fort Worth with their families, watching MASH and cuddling with their four-legged children, Paisley and Disney.

Madison Verret


Madison has been grooming animals for a little over 4 years. She has always wanted to work with animals and absolutely loves what she does. Madison and her fiancé Juan share one beautiful little girl named Peyton and one fur-baby named Bronnie.

Madison is originally from Metairie, Louisiana but moved to Houston in 2007. She attended Sam Houston University and received her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science.

When Madison is not here grooming at BHAH, she is spending time with her horse Ricky, spending time with her daughter and enjoying the outdoors.

Madison has been a great asset to BHAH. Rest assured that when you bring your fur-baby in for grooming, not only will they be groomed well, they will be loved just as if they were her own.

Sherri Schneider

Operations Manager

Sherri Schneider grew up in a small town in Louisiana where she attended Northwestern State University. She has been living in the Cypress Area for 13 years.

Sherri has an extensive background in new business startup which includes marketing, recruitment, management, client satisfaction and day to day operations.

She has been serving as Operations Manager for Blackhorse Animal Hospital for 10 years.
She and Dr. Schneider have 6 grown children between the two of them. She also has 2 grandchildren and four spoiled shelties.

Sherri enjoys gardening, cooking, entertaining, volunteering, and singing on the worship team at her church.


Office Manager

Lori is our office manager here at BHAH. She was born in Houston but resides in Katy. She has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years. Lori started in the kennel in 1997 and quickly progressed to a veterinary technician where she gained experience with small animals, birds, exotics, emergency medicine, cardiology, internal medicine, and oncology throughout her career as a veterinary technician.

She then became a consultant for a veterinary software company where she had the opportunity to travel all over the US, UK, and Australia learning the many ways that veterinary medicine is practiced in different parts of the world. Through her experience, school, and training she advanced to become an Office Manager. Lori has an Associate’s degree in Science and is an active member of the Houston Veterinary Practice Manager’s Association.

She has 3 boys-Corey, Andrew and Avery, 3 dogs-Laila, Tyson and Oscar, and a cat named Axl. Lori is a big fan of the Texans, Rockets and Astros. Whenever there is a game on, you can bet she will be watching it.

Joe Ann

Lead Receptionist

Joe Ann is our lead receptionist and has been with BHAH since our doors opened ten years ago. She previously worked with Dr. Schneider and followed him when he opened BHAH. Joe Ann was born in Houston but has only lived in the Cypress area for 15 years. Her and her family lived overseas for 10 years but Houston has always been home to her. Joe Ann has two children-Charlotte and Stephen and two fur-babies, Arnold and Amos that she shares with her husband of 38 years, Steve. She also has two grand-dogs named Tina and Marleau.

Joe Ann attended Catholic schools in Houston all the way until she graduated high school. She is also an avid Houston Rockets fan. Go Rockets! Joe Ann makes our clients feel welcomed and knows them by their first name and makes them feel at ease when they bring their fur-babies in or just to come pick up food or a prescription.

Kristen LVT

Senior Veterinary Technician

Kristen has been with BHAH for over 2 years. She is one of our licensed veterinary technicians. She received her Associates degree in Biology and her Associates in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology at Lonestar College in 2016.

Kristen was born and raised in Houston but currently resides in Katy with her significant other Lyndon AKA Sheff. They share two fur-babies-two kitties named Colby and Reeses. If you get the pleasure of having her as your technician, you will see how professional and caring she is. She provides excellent care for our patients.

Stephanie CVA II

Veterinary Technician

Stephanie joined BHAH in 2017 but has been in the veterinary field for over ten years. She started as kennel technician and worked her way up as a veterinary technician. She has also worked as a receptionist and a groomer. Stephanie is also a Certified Veterinary Assistant-Level II. She is a jack of all trades.

Stephanie is originally from Chicago but has lived in the Katy/Cypress area for the last 24 years. When Stephanie is not working, she is enjoying her time with her two kids Joceyln and Kayden, along her with her fur-babies Simba, Bruce and Clea.

Brooke LVT

Veterinary Technician

Brooke is one of our licensed veterinary technicians. She has only been at BHAH for a short time but has jumped right in and has quickly become part of the Blackhorse family. She was born in Wilson, NC, but has lived in Texas the last 12 years. Brooke has one daughter named Henleigh and one dog named Penny who she shares with her fiancé Demetrich.

Brooke received her Associates degree in Applied Science and then received her license to become an LVT. When Brooke is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, going to sporting events and concerts. One thing about Brooke is that she loves getting to know all of your fur-babies when they come into Blackhorse.

Becky LVT

Veterinary Technician

Becky is one of our licensed veterinary technicians that works with us part-time. When she is not working here at BHAH, she is working as an emergency technician at VERGI. She has a total of 16 years experience in the veterinary field, 13 of those years have been in emergency medicine. Becky has known the Schneiders and has worked with them for many, many years. Becky graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2004 and then became a licensed veterinary technician.

Becky has two grown children and one dog who is a Lab mix named Ruby. We love having Becky here as she provides a lot of knowledge and helps teach and educate others about veterinary medicine.


Veterinary Technician and Receptionist

Jan is one of our lovely receptionists and technicians. She has been with BHAH since 2017. Jan was born and raised in Tomball, Texas. She has a Sheltie named Halo that is her world. Halo has become a part of the BHAH family as she frequently comes to work with Jan.

When Jan is not working and has free time, she loves horseback riding, painting, reading, traveling, agility training with her Sheltie and running. Jan is known as the “clinic cuddler.” She is quick to grab a patient that is here and cuddle them to make them feel more comfortable. This is the favorite part of her job.


Veterinary Technician

Ruth joined BHAH in 2018. Even though she has only been here a short time, she has fit right in. Ruth is from a tiny town called High Island, Texas but moved to the city as soon as she could. She originally started her career in American Sign Language Interpreting but moved over to veterinary medicine when she realized her passion for animal welfare. Ruth and her husband, Matt share their home with their five fur-babies. They have two dogs-a Golden Retriever named Loki and a Pomeranian named Wags and three orange Tabby cats named Abbie, Goliath and Princess.

When Ruth is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, exploring new places and cuddling with her fur-babies.

Ruth is known as the ``cat lady`` here at BHAH. She is very passionate about feline health, helping feline patients stay calm during their visit and of course loving on all of the kittens.



Ashlee is one of our wonderful receptionists at BHAH. She joined BHAH in 2017 but has been in the veterinary field for about three years prior to joining us. Ashlee was born in Bellville, Texas, raised in Sealy, Texas for 18 years-where she graduated from Sealy High School and lived in the Katy/Cypress area for the past 3 years. She just moved to Waller where she now shares a home with her significant other Jared and her two beautiful girls Mylee and Macee. Ashlee also has 3 fur-babies- Brody who is a Lab/Rhodesian Ridegback Mix, Leena is a Pit Bull Mix and Molly who is a Doberman/Golden Retriever Mix.

When Ashlee has free time and is not working, she loves going on many adventures such as camping, kayaking, fishing and target practice. She has visited Disney World twice and spent a week in Cancun. She also has traveled to Tahoe, Nevada by car which took 30 hours there and 30 hours back. Ashlee also recently went sky diving out of a plane over Galveston and landed with her feet in the sand. Ashlee has a great love for animals and will make you feel welcome when you walk in the door with her contagious smile. She is thrilled for the future and can’t wait to see what is in store!
