Fred Schneider, DVM

Owner

Dr. Frederick Schneider is the owner of Blackhorse Animal Hospital. A Houston native, he attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science in 1989, a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science in 1990 and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1993.

After graduating, Dr. Schneider practiced veterinary medicine at hospitals in Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and the Spring/Cypress area before establishing Blackhorse Animal Hospital in 2007.

Dr. Schneider’s professional interests include general practice, wellness medicine, soft tissue surgery and orthopedics. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

In his spare time, Dr. Schneider enjoys golf, computers and most sports. He and his wife Sherri enjoy a blended family which includes her sons, Brandon (passed away 2010), Austin and Aaron, and his daughters, Steffanie, Kaitlyn and Brooke. They are members of a local Church and enjoy serving our community whenever possible. The family has four furry members—Lola, Belle, Pearl and Ruby the pampered Shelties.

Kristen Endsley, DVM

Associate

Dr. Kristen Endsley grew up in Austin, Texas. She then moved to College Station to attend school where she graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2009 and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2013.

Dr. Endsley’s professional interests include preventative medicine, dermatology, feline medicine, and soft tissue surgery. She is a member of both the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Endsley and her husband Daren enjoy being active and traveling in their spare time. They share their home with their beautiful twins Ocie and Evelyn and their three furry children- Piper and Peach, both long-haired miniature dachshunds, and their pesky little brother Brodie, a lab mix.

Samantha Monier, DVM

Associate

Dr. Samantha Monier (Mon`et)is from a small town in North Texas called Peaster. She grew up on a farm spending most of her time with her horses and dogs. She moved to College Station to attend Texas A&M to complete her pre-requisite courses for veterinary school and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017.

Dr. Monier enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but takes a special interest in nutrition, preventative medicine, ophthalmology and surgery. She is also a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

Dr. Monier loves traveling with her husband and son Patton as well as spending time in Fort Worth with their families. They also share their home with three four-legged dogs- Disney, Belle and Hank.

Meredith Daniel, DVM

Associate

Dr. Meredith Daniel was born and raised in Victoria, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology at Texas A&M University in 2006 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 2011.

Dr. Daniel is motivated by the relationships she has with her clients and patients. She enjoys all aspects of caring for her patients, but she takes particular interest in preventative care, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, and surgery. She is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA)and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

At home, Dr. Daniel enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband Michael have three children Brooks, Landry, and Hayes who keep them constantly busy and on their toes. They have a chihuahua named Rosie who love couch snuggles! Her hobbies include running, spending time outdoors, and traveling.

Sherri Schneider

Operations Manager

Sherri Schneider grew up in a small town in Louisiana where she attended Northwestern State University. She has been living in the Cypress Area for 13 years.

Sherri has an extensive background in new business startup which includes marketing, recruitment, management, client satisfaction and day to day operations.

She has been serving as Operations Manager for Blackhorse Animal Hospital for 10 years.
She and Dr. Schneider have 6 grown children between the two of them. She also has 2 grandchildren and four spoiled shelties.

Sherri enjoys gardening, cooking, entertaining, volunteering, and singing on the worship team at her church.

Stephanie

Office Manager

Stephanie joined BHAH in 2017 but has been in the veterinary field for over 15 years. She started as kennel technician and worked her way up as our office manager. She has also worked as a technician, receptionist and a groomer. Stephanie is also a Certified Veterinary Assistant-Level II. She is a jack of all trades.

Stephanie is originally from Chicago but has lived in the Katy/Cypress area for over 25 years. When Stephanie is not working, she is enjoying her time with her two kids Jocelyn and Kayden, along her with her fur-babies Bruce, Onyx and Clifford.

Mikayla

Groomer

Mikayla has been grooming animals since 2017. She loves working with animals and enjoys making your fur babies look their best!. Mikayla has two dogs named Blondie and Bizzy as well as 3 cats named Damon, JoJo and Blaze.

Mikayla is originally from Frederick, Maryland but moved to Texas in 2008. She enjoys visiting home on occasion and spending time with family .

When Mikayla is not here grooming at BHAH, she is at home spending time with her significant other and her two children Aspen and Kody. She also loves spending time with friends and exploring the city.

Kristen LVT

Lead Veterinary Technician

Kristen has been with BHAH since 2017. She is one of our licensed veterinary technicians. She received her Associates degree in Biology and her Associates in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology at Lonestar College in 2016.

Kristen was born and raised in Houston but currently resides in Cypress with her fiancé Lyndon AKA Sheff. They share a daughter, Krislyn, a son named Kylo, Two Golden Retrievers named Kane and Mela and three kitties named Colby, Reeses and Truffle. If you get the pleasure of having her as your technician, you will see how professional and caring she is. She provides excellent care for our patients.

Ruth

Senior Veterinary Technician

Ruth joined BHAH in 2018. She is from a tiny town called High Island, Texas but moved to the city as soon as she could. She originally started her career in American Sign Language Interpreting but moved over to veterinary medicine when she realized her passion for animal welfare. Ruth and her husband, Matt share their home with their son Conner and their five fur-babies. They have two dogs-a Golden Retriever named George and a Pomeranian named Ashes and four orange Tabby cats named Abbie, Goliath, Twitch and Princess.

When Ruth is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, exploring new places and cuddling with her son and fur-babies.

Ruth is known as the "cat lady" here at BHAH. She is very passionate about feline health, helping feline patients stay calm during their visit and of course loving on all of the kittens.

Tiana

Veterinary Technician

Tina joined BHAH in 2022. She received her Associates degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology at the Vet Tech Institute in 2021, and she's currently looking to further her career to become a licensed veterinary technician.

Tiana is originally from Orlando Florida but moved to Houston Texas when she was younger. When Tiana is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as spending time with her cats Loki and Drax.

Nicholas

Veterinary Technician

Nicholas (AKA Nick) joined BHAH in 2020 after receiving his Bachelors degree in Biology-Health Sciences from the Oregon Institute of Technology. Nick has worked in the veterinary field for 5 years so far-starting as an intern, advancing to kennel technician and now a veterinary assistant. He is a valuable asset to our practice as he can reach places no one else can. Check out his height!! He is always available for everyone when they need help.

Nicholas was born in Houston, but moved around the US for several years before returning back to his original roots. When Nick is not working, he is either working out or binge watching anime with his 2 cats, Blitzo and Sasha.

Ashlee

Lead Receptionist

Ashlee is one of our wonderful receptionists at BHAH. She joined BHAH in 2017 but has been in the veterinary field for about 3 years prior to joining us. Ashlee was raised in Sealy, Texas where she graduated from Sealy High School and now resides in Magnolia, Texas. Ashlee shares a home with her husband Jared and her two beautiful girls Mylee and Macee. Ashlee also has multiple fur-babies- Brody who is a Lab Mix, Jessie a Great Pyrenees Mix, Molly who is a Chow Mix, Ace a German Shepheard Mix and River who is a Catahoula. She also has two kitties named Chester and Will Feral.
When Ashlee has free time and is not working, she loves going on many adventures such as camping, kayaking, fishing and target practice. Ashlee has a great love for animals and will make you feel welcome when you walk in the door with her contagious smile. She is thrilled for the future and can’t wait to see what is in store!

Sharyl

Receptionist

Sharyl joined Blackhorse Animal Hospital in January 2019. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, raised in Kentucky and Alabama, but got to Texas ASAP. Sharyl is married to her husband Bo who she shares 5 children with- Caleb, Jordan, David, Ethan and Alyssa. She also has a dog named Tilley. Sharyl has been living with and loving dogs her whole life, she appreciates the special relationship people have with the furry members of their family.

Sharyl is also an EMT and Certified Yoga Instructor outside her position here at BHAH and has worked as a Veterinary Technician and Surgical Veterinary Assistant at previous veterinary hospitals. Sharyl is an avid Auburn fan, but we love her anyways!
